As you may be aware by now, we will begin the ‘Flexi of the Month’ project with a three-month trial run. This means that each month club members will receive a new flexi-disc ‘Polish’ postcard for three months. We have already announced our first two artists (Artist #1 and Artist #2), and now we are proud to finally announce our third and final artist for this three-month run. For this release we were looking for someone a bit more rough and noisy. We finally found it in this noise-rock outfit from Auckland, New Zealand; God Bows To Math.
Since God Bows To Math formed mid-way through 2008, they have been one of the most pro-active members of the Auckland music scene. Gigging everywhere and anywhere, they’re constantly championed as one of the hardest working bands in the country. The group have completed three national headlining tours, building a fan base in every major centre, and doing it all themselves!
The band are another artist I met on Soundcloud (social media DOES work!) and their music caught my attention right away. Not many know the noise rock genre by name, but most fans of post-punk/modern rock are familiar with the sound. I could immediately hear some of their influences, which are also some of my personal faves. In my opinion, not many bands can pull-off the sound, but God Bows To Math does a great job and I’m sure you will think so, too.
