Originally I was planning on announcing all the artists in one post, but due to scheduling conflicts, that just isn’t going to happen. However, the first artist we will release in Polish postcard fashion is all ready to go! Allow me to introduce you to Ellis Swan…
Ellis Swan is a Canadian musician now living in Chicago, whose influences include Sleepy John Estes, Geeshie Wiley and Ariel Pink. Berlin based music blog No Fear Of Pop described the music as “At its core true-to-the-letter loner folk yet fuzzed out to the extreme and with quite a few twisted edges…”
I met Ellis via Soundcloud. His lo-fi, dark and folksy tunes grabbed me right away, and when I first began dreaming up the Flexi project he was the first artist I thought would be perfect for this. Luckily he was into the idea when I contacted him. We will be releasing his song, “Frankie & Charlie”, which has received some indie acclaim.
